Rev. Diann Davisson has had a distinguished and multifaceted career spanning over several decades. She served as a Clinical Certified Chaplain and Supervisor of the Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) Program at Long Beach Memorial and Miller Children’s Hospital in California for 12 years, retiring in 2012. Even in retirement, she holds active certifications in Hospital Chaplaincy, Hospice, Palliative Care, and Pastoral Counseling through the College of Pastoral Supervision & Psychotherapy (CPSP).
In 2018, Rev. Diann relocated to California's Central Coast with her wife of 47 years, where she became the staff minister at the Center for Spiritual Living (CSL) in Templeton, now known as CSL Atascadero.
Her career took a new direction in 2020 when she became an Advanced Certified Grief Specialist in the "Grief Recovery Method," offering online classes in adult bereavement and pet loss through Cuesta College and various Centers for Spiritual Living. In 2024, she further expanded her expertise by becoming a "Certified Grief Educator" through David Kessler’s 12-week program, allowing her to provide even deeper support to her clients.
Rev. Diann was licensed in 2000 and ordained in 2004 in the Church of Religious Science (now Centers for Spiritual Living). She accepted a “Letter of Call” as the assistant minister at Huntington Beach Center for Spiritual Living from 2000 to 2005 while transitioning into chaplaincy.
Throughout her life, Rev. Diann has been an adventurous traveler, with notable experiences such as hiking to the base camp of Mt. Everest, climbing to the top of the pyramid at sunrise, sitting with mountain gorillas in Rwanda, trekking the Inca trail to Machu Picchu, and riding waves over the coral reefs in Fiji. Recently, she spent a week in Assisi, Italy, with Caroline Myss, continuing her journey of spiritual growth and discovery.
